The BF Goodrich g-Grip tire, new in 2009, replaced the Profiler2, was developed for a wide range of passenger cars.
The BF Goodrich g-Grip has an improved balance of dry and wet performance and a unique design. The directional tread pattern with a large number of drainage channels creates a breakwater effect to drain the maximum amount of water in aquaplaning conditions. In the design of the tread pattern, due to the special shape of the channels, a "funnel" effect is created, which makes it possible to increase the rate of water drainage from the contact patch.
