Procomp Xterrain is a radial mud tire with three-layer sidewalls that provide more puncture protection than some other radial tires. The main feature of the Pro Comp Xterrain tires is an aggressive, deep wide-hollow tread design with a directional stepped pattern to keep the rims free of dirt and debris. The tread uses XTC (Extreme Traction Compound) technology. It provides maximum protection against punctures and bursts, increasing the flexibility and stability of the tire under reduced pressure. Sidewall durability is provided by three layers of polyester, and the base of the tread consists of one layer of nylon, two steel cords and three layers of polyester. The large side lugs of the Procomp Xterrain promote traction with grooves that cross each lug for good traction on and off the road. The only drawback of the tread is its directional pattern, which improves traction in predominantly one direction. It is recommended to mount the Xterrain so that the dirt is thrown off the tires along the tread grooves. Two layers of steel belts, located in opposite corners and covering the entire base of the tread, maximize puncture resistance in rocky terrain, and also allow the tire to flex well under reduced pressure for maximum grip on rocks.
The tire tread is designed in such a way that when driving on the road, it produces much less noise than conventional mud tires, which makes them ideal radial tires for everyday driving.
